Proven Results
Field Tests
Cymat Technologies contracted a world leading third party test facility to characterize SmartSheild™ and its ability to attenuate high speed blast impulses. The test matrix included 20 blast events encompassing a range of thicknesses and densities of Cymat’s SmartSheild™ material.
Each blast event demonstrated:
SmartSheild™ is strain rate insensitive
SmartSheild™ shows a reduction of G loading to a ratio of 10 to 1 2 full scale field tests were performed
- 100 kg TNT @ 10 m
- 900 kg TNT @ 21 m
In the tests the SmartSheild™ lined concrete beams resulted in minor cracks to the structure compared to the uncovered beam that sustained significant cracking. The blast events demonstrated:
